This kind of bright white photo paper is cast coated with single sided glossy surface which is widely used for printing photos, post cards, name cards, menus, booklets etc.

Definition About Cast Coasted Photo Paper
Coated on the surface of the original paper with a layer of micron-sized silicon oxide (about 2microns, two orders of magnitude larger than RC waterproof paper). And using chrome rail die casting during the production process to achieve "glossy" effect , so it's called "cast coated paper". Kindly note that silicon oxide coating is completely waterproof, but the paper base isn't waterproof, so the cast-coated paper is "semi-waterproof". 
It can not touch much water.
